What is the purpose of this section during Qualification?
Our goal is to get a complete and accurate understanding of your company's cybersecurity posture. For companies operating in industrial sectors, this means looking beyond standard corporate IT.
We assess both your Enterprise IT (standard office networks, laptops, servers) and your Operational Technology (OT) environments. This specific section focuses on the OT environment to measure the security of systems used in manufacturing, production, or industrial automation and to ensure no hidden vulnerabilities exist.
What is an Industrial Control System (ICS)?
An Industrial Control System (ICS) is a collective term for the specialised hardware and software that monitors and controls physical industrial processes. This is fundamentally different from a standard corporate IT network.
Key examples of ICS technologies include:
Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
These systems are typically found in environments like manufacturing plants, power grids, water treatment facilities, and other industrial settings.
Who should select "Yes" for the ICS question?
It is critical to answer this initial question correctly during Qualification.
You should only select "YES" if your company directly operates or manages the types of industrial systems listed above.
Consider selecting "YES" if you are in a sector such as:
Manufacturing, Production, or any related fields
Energy and Utilities
Pharmaceuticals
Transportation and Logistics (with automated control systems)
Any other industry that runs automated physical processes.
Select "NO" if your company is purely service-based or only has a standard office IT infrastructure (laptops, servers, printers, office networks), even if you are a supplier to the manufacturing sector (while not operating OT).
How the questionnaire works and the impact of your answer
Our questionnaire is dynamic and adapts based on your answers.
If you answer "YES": A new set of questions will be unlocked, focusing specifically on how you secure your industrial environment.
If you answer "NO": The ICS-specific questions will be skipped, and the section will be marked as "Not Applicable" in your final assessment. Your score will not be impacted.
โ๏ธ Important: the impact of an incorrect answer
Selecting "Yes" when this section does not apply to your company will result in a set of technical questions you will be unable to answer. This will lead to a low or zero score for this section, which will inaccurately lower your company's overall assessment rating.
When in doubt, don't hesitate to get in touch with your Account Manager.
