During registration, you will be asked to select a category that describes your company's main business activity. CyberVadis uses the ISIC system, the International Standard Industrial Classification developed by the United Nations, to categorize companies across all industries.
Your category selection matters: it directly influences which questions appear in your customized questionnaire. Selecting the most accurate category ensures your assessment reflects your company's actual operating context.
How to select the right category
ISIC classification is based on what your company does, its primary activity, not on the product or service it delivers. The same end product can fall into different categories depending on whether the company manufactures it, distributes it, or provides services around it.
When selecting your category, choose the one that best represents your company's main source of revenue or core operational function.
Examples
A company that manufactures electronic components → classified under manufacturing, not electronics retail
A company that develops and sells software → classified under information technology services, not software products
A company that provides cybersecurity consulting → classified under professional services, not technology
